Features of water-soluble phenolic resin

The central sulfonyl bond of our main product, DHDPS (dihydroxydiphenylsulfone), is characterized by strong electron withdrawing properties and chemical stability.
Furthermore, the hydroxyl group of DHDPS has higher acidity than phenolic compounds such as ordinary phenol, cresol, dihydroxydiphenylpropane and tannic acid, and is used in various fields by utilizing its hydrogen bond strength.
We focused on the characteristics of DHDPS and developed various anionic water-soluble resins by copolymerizing with sulfonic acid compounds.
As an anionic surface treatment agent with excellent adhesion to the substrate, it is expected to be used in many applications.

① Nylon fix agent

By using the ionic bond strength between the terminal amino group of the nylon fiber and the sulfonic acid group of the water-soluble phenol resin, and the hydrogen bond strength between the azo group of the acidic dye and the hydroxyl group of the water-soluble phenol resin, It is used.

② Cationic binder

By optimizing the molar ratio and molecular weight of DHDPS and sulfonic acid compounds, we have found that it has high adhesion to substrates that do not have bonds such as polyester and cellulose.
In addition to the hydrogen bond strength between the DHDPS hydroxyl group and the carbonyl group or hydroxyl group of the base material, cross-linking (thermosetting) using a methylol group at the end of the resol-type water-soluble phenolic resin shows high robustness.
